Play Up
Play Up is a music project aimed at young musicians who have attained an intermediate or higher level on their chosen instrument. We provide a space where young people can meet, jam, form bands, learn to play covers, compose their own music, and rehearse and record their work.

In partnership with KASET skate park, we host our sessions at their location, where young musicians can meet and collaborate with like-minded individuals. Our program offers a range of opportunities for young musicians to explore stagecraft, live sound engineering, performance, recording, studio skills, music production, composition, music theory, event organization, and the music business.

Since 2018, we have worked with over 70 young people and have helped create 11 different acts. All of these acts have had the opportunity to perform at various events and festivals, including the King's Lynn Festival Too, The Harlequin Fayre, and the Young Norfolk Arts Festival.
Some of our young musicians have recorded their original music, and one group has produced a nine-song concept album that received airplay on several local radio stations. One of our young bands Perdon's Plan released their concept album on Spotify and have over 10,000 streams.

Our project provides a space for young musicians to express themselves creatively, and many of our participants have contributed to other youth projects, such as youth voice consultations and the Youth Music-funded consultation Beating a Path, which led to an interview on BBC Radio Norfolk. Join us at KASET skate park to explore your musical talents and connect with other young musicians!
